Local buying made easier
Local business owners and those planning to start up a business are urged to attend a free local business exhibition and networking event at the Worcestershire County Cricket Ground on May 16th.
Worcester-based ISO Quality Services Ltd, specialists in ISO Management Systems consultancy and training, originally set up the Love Local Expo to help its clients promote themselves to other local businesses but the event has since grown to include other businesses based in Worcestershire.
Director, Jennifer Appleton, explains, “We’re bringing local businesses and support organisations together under one roof at the Expo. It will be a one-stop-shop for both new and existing businesses, whether they need recruitment services, HR advice, a web presence, accountancy services or something more unusual such as photography and videos.
Ray Gillespie of Worcester Web Studio was one of the first exhibitors to sign up. He explains, “Local custom is key to our business and has enabled us to expand both our premises and our team this year. We’re looking forward to meeting more local businesses at the Love Local Expo and helping them to create an online presence to attract more customers of their own.”
Jennifer adds, “We firmly believe that trading locally helps retain skills and boost employment and we’re delighted that so many Worcestershire-based companies have chosen to support this initiative by exhibiting. All decision makers are welcome, regardless of the size or age of their company. Even existing business owners will learn a thing or two, such as how to tackle GDPR, handle changes in employment law and claim R&D tax credits.”
Local information security software experts, Titania, will be showcasing their free Risk Assessment tool at the Expo. It enables businesses to check their computer systems for cyber risks so they can take steps to protect themselves. It includes 21 best practice security checks inspired by the government backed scheme, Cyber Essentials.
ISO Quality Services Ltd will be announcing its latest fundraising initiative at this event and any profits from stand sales will be donated to Midlands Air Ambulance, the company’s chosen charity.
Attendees can win half a day of free GDPR consultancy and a place at ISO Quality Services Ltd’s charity golf day which will be held at the Bank House Hotel on 19th June.
