Choose your carer is an online introductory service set up to enable those in need of care, a source to choose a carer that suits their needs.

The vision for the service was impacted by own experience as a qualified social worker Worker who holds a BSC (hons) in Social Work and who has substantial experience of working in adult services, both older adults and learning disabilities. Through this work I saw a need for those in need of care wanting consistency of carers, call times that suited them, rather than what was available and someone to care; carers that they got on with and who went the extra mile, spending time to talk with them and showing interest in their lives. Many people who need care may have very limited time with family or friends throughout the week.

The ethos of Choose your carer is person centred care, which we are a strong advocate for. Choose your carer is about a service that delivers care and support, the kind that we would use for our own loved ones. We strive only for carers that are passionate about their role and want to make a difference. We believe that choice and control is paramount to anyone needing care and where those needing care no longer have capacity that those responsible for seeking care feel strongly that have found the most suited carer. We understand that seeking care is an anxious time and how important getting the right care is.

Choose your carer works to enable those seeking care find carers who are most suited to their needs and local. This aims to enable a flexible person centred service for care receivers, that provides continuity of care and development of rapport between carer and client.
