Anticipation growing ahead of this week’s Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards 2018

This week’s Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards 2018 will be recognising the successes of 25 of the best apprentices, employers, training providers and schools shortlisted for awards.

The 5th edition of the annual awards will be taking place from 6pm on Thursday 16 November at the Tree Tops Pavilion, West Midland Safari Park, where the winners in each category will be announced.

This year’s awards will be hosted by Angellica Bell, BAFTA-nominated TV presenter, in front of a large audience of 340 people. The popular celebration event will culminate in the two overall awards of Apprenticeship Employer of the Year, which is sponsored by Yamazaki Mazak UK Ltd and Apprentice of the Year, sponsored by the Worcester Bosch, to recognise outstanding achievement.

Angellica Bell, BAFTA-nominated TV presenter and host of the Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards 2018, said: “I would like to give my congratulations to everyone who has been named as finalists for the Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards 2018.“I’ve always supported apprenticeships for the way that they give people a chance to earn as they learn and to thrive in any profession. It’s therefore my pleasure to be hosting this year’s awards and I look forward to recognising the successes of Worcestershire’s apprentices, employers, training providers and schools.”

Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “We are proud to organise these awards alongside Worcestershire County Council, to recognise the successes of our county’s apprenticeships and the important role that they play in local business. As always, I’m very much looking forward to attending the awards and celebrating all that makes apprenticeships the ideal route for employment and learning.”

Cllr Marcus Hart, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Education and Skills at Worcestershire County Council added: “We’re looking forward to attending another lively Apprenticeship Awards which recognises some of the brightest minds in local apprenticeships. The large attendance that we are expecting at the awards just goes to show the continued popularity of the apprenticeships scheme, and the attractiveness of earning while you learn.”
