Apprenticeship Support for Businesses
If you are looking to harness the talent of young people when running your business, apprenticeships may be the right step for you.
Your business may wish to employ apprentices to work alongside your experienced staff and gain vital on-the- job skills whilst completing a programme of work-based training or you may wish to upskill existing employees using apprenticeships.
Apprentices will usually work at least 30 hours per week and will need to be paid the National Minimum Wage rate for an apprentice of their age. Learning both on the job and via external training through a local college or training provider, apprentices will typically complete their work- based qualification within one to four years.
There are over 630 apprenticeship standards aligned to job roles available at Intermediate, Advanced, Higher and Degree Apprenticeship levels.
Anyone over the age of 16, living in England and not currently in full- time education can complete an apprenticeship and schemes can be used to train new or existing employees.

The Worcestershire Apprenticeships Hub provides a one stop service for young people, parents and employers to encourage the growth of apprenticeship opportunities and increase the number of young people becoming apprentices in Worcestershire.
For businesses, the Worcestershire Apprenticeships team can advise on the current support and incentives available for employers, guide them through the process of hiring an apprentice and introduce employers into other skills and recruitment support networks.
