Alwlhad Miah has been appointed the Export Academy Trade Advisor at the Department for International Trade (DIT) for the Worcestershire region, based at Hereford and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce.
Awlahad has previously worked with a number of West Midlands based companies and has supported them towards their international trade development over the past 5 years. His career began in the volunteering sector supporting local community initiatives and projects, then moved onto working in the public sector.
Alwlhad brings plenty of experience to this role. In the past, he has supported numerous businesses in accessing and processing ERDF grant funding applications for overseas growth activities, this involved working with a diverse range of businesses. One of his biggest achievements was to be able to support a local company towards their international activity resulting in a multi-million pound export win and the creation of over 20 jobs.
Awlhad works with a diverse range of businesses which include, but are not limited to, manufacturing, food, consumer goods and services, advanced engineering, chemical, skincare, education – so he has a mixture of clients from start-ups to established SME’s.
