Become more Productive: Fully Funded Workshops for Manufacturing SMEs

On the 12th March the Manufacturing Growth Programme (MGP) will be delivering the latest Manufacturing Productivity Workshops hosted by Droitwich manufacturer Team Dynamics Racing.

A range of 8 themed, fully funded free to attend, productivity workshops are being held across Worcestershire until 2021. The sessions are open to SME manufacturing businesses across the region to provide all delegates with a good understanding of how to become more productive and improve business performance and the customer experience. These events are suitable for all levels from shop floor to senior management.

Between now and April the theme is Value Stream Mapping. Value Stream Mapping is the start to any Lean transformation, it uses a pictogram to depict the flow of material downstream and the flow of information.

These workshops are delivered by Manufacturing Growth Manager, Roy Matthews. Roy’s experience began when he formed and grew an SME manufacturing company supplying decorative interior components to the demanding automotive sector. As Operations Director, he was responsible for continuously improving the performance of the factory and ensuring that customers received the best quality and service.

As a dedicated Manufacturing Growth Manager, Roy was able to apply experience and expertise into a variety of sectors to improve company performances. Roy is an expert in Lean, Improving layouts and 5S.

Other themes being delivered later next year include Supply Chain, Problem Solving, Quality, Cost and Delivery, Change Management and Vision and Strategy.

The Manufacturing Growth Programme, which is funded by ERDF and delivered by Economic Growth Solutions (part of Oxford Innovation), will continue to support small to medium-sized (SME) manufacturers across England until September 2021.

Dedicated to helping SMEs grow and address key skills issues and will help a further 2400 companies to tackle barriers to growth with the potential of creating 2500 new jobs.

Going forward, support can be used for an array of improvement projects, such as continuous improvements, change, environmental and sustainability, leadership and management, marketing, people and skills, productivity and capacity, quality and strategy.
