Winthill Engineering

Company Overview

Winthill Engineering are a custom metalwork specialist operating from Suckley within Malvern. They are reputed for their bespoke builds which when fabricated, work structurally and mechanically. Often these are private commissions, but they also work with commercial partners, including some of the country’s most prestigious brands and institutions, alongside leading architects, contractors and developers.

Support Received

Over the past two years, Winthill Engineering, has been on an ambitious growth journey. A key part of their strategy has been exploring the power of events and exhibitions to raise brand awareness and showcase their craftsmanship.

To help bring this vision to life, Winthill turned to the Worcestershire Growth Hub for expert support and guidance. With the help of the Growth Hub, Winthill secured grant funding for a professional exhibition stand and branded workwear, ensuring that their professional image extends to every client interaction, networking event, and on-site project.

With several new team members joining over the past year and evolving customer demands, Winthill was also able to use the SkillsBoost grant to upskill their employees to provide a better service to their customers.

Business Impact

With the help of the Growth Hub, Winthill secured grant funding for a professional exhibition stand and branded workwear – a major step in enhancing their visibility at key industry events. This funding made it possible to achieve a greater return on investment, enabling Winthill to attend higher-profile events and present themselves with confidence and professionalism.

The new exhibition stand has already helped the company connect with new audiences, and they’re now exploring future opportunities including collaborations with the Royal Horticultural Society. Using the SkillsBoost grant fund, Winthill’s employees have successfully completed courses in Business Development, Solidworks 2D and 3D design software, and Forklift Operator Training. These courses have given their staff the skills, knowledge, and confidence to move to the next level.

As a result of this training, not only are their staff benefitting, but their customers are also feeling them benefit as they can now share high-quality 2D and 3D graphics and boost operational processes.
