Chess Plastics Ltd are a plastic injection moulder based in Droitwich.
Finance Director, Gareth Olden explains how some of the machinery they use is quite old, uses a lot of power, is expensive to run and so that they were looking to replace it. After finding out about the Low Carbon Opportunities Programme, they decided it was a no brainer, with the whole process being really straightforward.
The new Borche machines they have, use about 1/3 of the electricity than the old ones. This has led them to save around 2/3 of the electricity and made a massive reduction in their Carbon footprint. Saving around £48,000 in electricity costs per year.
Chess Plastics recommend people to get in contact with the Low Carbon Opportunities Programme as Gareth Olden describes the support they received, as being tremendous and certainly worthwhile.
