Food and Drink organisations reminded on inspections
Worcestershire Food and Drink businesses are being reminded about inspections.

Currently Worcestershire Regulatory Services(WRS) are following the Food Standards Agency Recovery Programme prioritising premises that missed an inspection during Covid lockdowns and new premises.

Food Officers have completed over nearly 3,000 visits over the past 18 months. The good news is despite the challenges we still have a high level of FHRS compliance across the County.

Some premises have dropped a level, mostly due to lapses in food safety management paperwork, cleaning, training and allergen issues. Officers have also been reviewing display of FHRS stickers. We found over a quarter of premises were displaying incorrect ratings either on their doors, leaflets or websites.

We will continue to carry out further checks during the year.

You do not have to display your sticker but if you do be aware that if it’s not the right one it is an offence under Consumer Protection Act 1987 to display misleading information.
