Fortis Living give first glimpse of this year’s Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards trophies

Fortis Living, trophy sponsors for this year’s Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards 2017 have joined Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and Worcestershire County Council to reveal the event’s trophies.

Winners from the ten categories of the Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards will be presented with a personalised crystal sloped trophy while the two overall winners from the categories will also pick up the crystal glacier trophy. This year’s impressive trophies have been sourced and engraved by Worcester-based company SB Print and are set to be a fitting reward for the hard work and achievements of this year’s awards finalists.

Finalists, businesses and guests will attend the Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards at 6:30pm, on Thursday 16 November at the Tree Tops Pavilion, West Midland Safari Park, where the winners of each category will be announced. The ceremony will be presented by one of the UK’s leading live comedians, Mark Watson, and is set to attract a record audience of 350 people.

The popular celebration event will culminate in the two overall awards of Apprenticeship Employer of the Year, which is sponsored by Yamazaki Mazak UK Ltd and Apprentice of the Year, sponsored by Worcester Bosch Group, to recognise outstanding achievement.

Guy Weston, Group Chief Executive of Fortis Living, said: “It’s great to be a part of work to recognise the region’s best and brightest young talent. Here at Fortis Living, apprenticeships are a key part of what we do. We believe the alternative qualification routes, professional nurturing and hands on experience that they offer, help our apprentices to develop the skills and confidence they need not simply for a job, but for a fulfilling and successful future.”

Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, added: “Our thanks go to Fortis Living for sponsoring the fantastic trophies at this year’s Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards. Since the first ceremony in 2014, the Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards has gone into many peoples’ calendars as the key date for celebrating the county’s exceptional apprenticeships and I know that this year’s event will be another great display of Worcestershire’s support for apprenticeships.”

Cllr Marcus Hart, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Education and Skills at Worcestershire County Council added:  “We are delighted that Fortis Living has sponsored the trophies for the Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards, especially as they are a company that is so dedicated to apprenticeships and skills development. The trophies look very impressive and will prove to be a fitting award for some of the county’s most impressive apprentices, apprenticeship employers, schools and training providers.”
