On November 13th, the Manufacturing Growth Programme (MGP) will be delivering the first Manufacturing Productivity Workshop in Worcestershire as part of a series being delivered across England.
A range of 8 themed, free to attend, productivity workshops are being held across the country with the first focusing on ‘Lean Awareness’. The sessions are open to SME manufacturing businesses in the Worcestershire region to provide all delegates with a good understanding of Lean Principles and how waste reduction will improve business performance and the customer experience. This event is suitable for all levels from shop floor to senior management.
November’s workshop is being hosted by renowned MGP client, Morgan Motor Company. At the end of this workshop, Morgan Motor Company will be providing a complimentary factory tour to showcase their products and their Lean processes, with limited places available based on a first come, first serve basis.
Manufacturing Growth Manager, Catherine Bray commented; “Lean Principles are essential in today’s business world promoting standardised procedures, which eliminate the waste of manufacturing resources, time, manpower, space and many other aspects within an organisation.

At the end of the upcoming workshop, delegates will be able to explain the 5 Lean principles and the benefits of applying these to the business, understand the 7 production wastes and how to reduce them, run value added activities and waste management and explain and demonstrate the massive benefits gained by the implementation of Lean.
These workshops are delivered by Manufacturing Growth Manager, Roy Matthews. Roy’s experience began when he formed and grew an SME manufacturing company supplying decorative interior components to the demanding automotive sector. As Operations Director, he was responsible for continuously improving the performance of the factory and ensuring that customers received the best quality and service.
As a dedicated MAS Advisor, Roy was able to apply experience and expertise into a variety of sectors to improve company performances. Roy is an expert in Lean, Improving layouts and 5S.
