Go global by selling online

Hundreds of businesses are expected to attend the biggest digital event the Midlands Engine has ever held.

The Selling Online Conference is set to attract more than 250 businesses from across the Midlands with ambitions of going global or that want to expand their international reach, through the World Wide Web.

Selling online allows companies of all sizes to grow their sales around the world and tap into new markets through e-commerce, something that would have taken an extraordinary amount of effort and investment only a few years ago.

This free conference will be hosted at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, on Thursday, February 01, 2018. Delegates will be immersed in a digital world where they can explore the huge potential that the online global marketplace presents for Midlands businesses.

The event will include:

  • interactive workshops with Google, Push Marketing, PayPal, Barclays, Marks & Clerk and more
  • a drop-in lounge to speak with digital trade advisers
  • a digital expo where experts will be on hand to offer advice
  • a wealth of networking opportunities in The Hive

Businesses will also have the chance to learn about the General Data Protection Regulation laws that will come into force in May 2018 in a workshop that will offer practical advice for retailers.

Simon Hall, Director Export & Investment Midlands Engine, Department for International Trade, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses from the Midlands to see the opportunities that selling online can bring. Whether you are new to selling online or an experienced e-exporter, this conference will provide interactive workshops, talks, and networking opportunities that will help you to grow your business.”
