Growth Hub update – February 2023

Video Transcript

Hello and welcome to Worcestershire Growth Hub’s February newsletter. You see that we’re in a slightly different location today, and that’s because we’ve based ourselves at The Kiln in Worcester City Center. For those of you that don’t know, The Kiln is a co-working space in Worcester City Center. It’s located just behind the Guild Hall. So we feel it’s really important that when we are supporting growing businesses, we not only go out to visit them, but we also base ourselves where these businesses are.

And the good thing about The Kiln is that anyone can come in if they’ve got a business, they can come in and they can meet and sit with us here. We look forward to meeting you. As well as being based at The Kiln. You’ll also find members of the group out and about at business events this month. If you haven’t booked on to these events, follow the links in the newsletter and come and chat with our team.

Our Professional Business Advisor programme is into its last two months of the 2022/23 year. We have supported over 220 businesses so far and there is still time left to access the scheme. Alongside this, we also have some new expert advisor blogs available, have a look through the newsletter to find out more. In other news we have the inaugural Worcestershire Inclusive Careers Conference event at the end of March and this is a great opportunity for local employers to understand how they can embrace inclusive employment and benefit from this to grow their workforce.I’m sure this will be of particular interest to those businesses who are struggling with recruitment at the moment.

I’d also like to remind businesses that we’re still running a survey about the future skills support that they need, and this is a great chance to have your voice heard to make sure that the future support is aimed directly at what businesses have told us.

And finally, a date for your diary. BetaDen, our technology accelerator, are running their Cohort six showcase event. We’d love for you to join us at this, it is a chance for you to see the technology and the businesses that have been accelerated via BetaDen support. At this event there will also be an innovation forum where you can be part of the conversation around business innovation as a whole, but also help shape what future support might look like.

If you’d like to find out more, have a read the article in the newsletter. And that’s that February looks really, really busy. As I said the team are looking forward to seeing you out and about and please do pop along to The Kiln on a Wednesday morning if you’d like to meet us there as well. I look forward to seeing you in March.
