Hello and welcome to Worcestershire Growth Hub’s March newsletter. Earlier this month, the team at the Growth Hub and LEP were part of Worcestershire Skills Show, the first one since the pandemic. With over 3000 students attending, they all engaged with local employers, training providers and colleges to understand more about the careers that we have on offer across our county.

We know that skills and recruitment is an issue for many organizations, and so engaging in events like the Skills Show helps businesses to interact with young people and inspire them to work for your business. Creating your workforce for the future. As a business in 2023, particularly in this fast paced and ever developing world, it’s really important that we continue to consider the skills that we are going to require when we move forward. So whether these are the softer skills or whether they are linked to new and emerging technologies, we need to be considering them. And this is where we at Worcestershire Growth Hub need your voice and opinion. Government are asking for feedback on the skills required for the roles and businesses of the future, and you can still take part and feed in your thoughts and requirements, giving you the opportunity to influence future training provision and better support Worcestershire businesses and their community.

The survey is open in the newsletter and it’s open for another couple of weeks. We would really welcome your feedback. And sticking with the theme of skills and recruitment. I’d like to remind you about Worcestershire’s Inclusive Employment Conference, which is taking place on the 30th of March. This is a chance to learn more about how you as employers can embrace inclusive hiring practices and the benefits that can bring to your organization. Spaces are limited for this event, so I would encourage, if you are interested, to book on now to avoid disappointment.
