Growth Hub Update – March 2024

Video Transcript

Hello and welcome to the March edition of the Worcestershire Growth Hub Newsletter. It’s been a busy few weeks for the team as we’ve been out and about meeting businesses, delivering support events across the county and excitingly developing plans for new support programmes to help Worcestershire businesses.

The first thing to report back on are the series of events delivered across the county earlier this month to outline the current support and funding available for businesses. It was great to be able to engage with a plethora of businesses from different sectors and locations, and I hope for those of you who are able to make it that you find them useful and informative.

Whilst on the topic of events, I’d also like to say a big thank you to those businesses who attended and were involved with the WLEP’s BIG Conversation event which took place on the 23rd of February and covered useful sessions on innovation, skills and business support. We had over 200 businesses with us physically and virtually for the event and the feedback provided from businesses will help us and our partners to reflect this in future support we offer and ensure that your voice continues to be heard. For those of you who weren’t able to make it. Fear not. Each of the sessions from the Big conversation are now available on demand via the Worcestershire LEP website. Equally, you can contact our team who can send you the links and discuss any of the topics that were raised during the event.

Next up, I’d like to encourage businesses to make sure you’re in touch with the team and receiving our newsletter, social media updates and website updates coming into the new financial year, as new programmes, schemes and funding comes on stream, we want to ensure that all businesses are supported and the best way to do this is to get in touch with us to make sure that you are at the front of the queue. An example of this new support is the SkillsBoost Worcestershire programme. This is a new scheme coming online next month in April, which will help businesses to cover the costs of upskilling their employees via training programmes. Up to 50% of the cost will be covered up to a maximum grant total of £6,000 available per business and will help ensure organisations can address their skills needs. If you want to be able to access SkillsBoost Worcestershire, please make sure you contact the team as soon as possible and register your interest.

Finally, for this month, I would like to quickly remind you that our universal business events calendar is live and available via our website. On here you can find out more about all of the business support related events taking place across the county. It doesn’t matter who’s running them or where they are in the county. You can find more details on them via our website.

I hope you enjoy reading through this newsletter. And as always, please get in touch with the team to make sure your business growth is supported.
