Growth Hub update – November 2022

Video Transcript

Hello and welcome to the November edition of Worcestershire Growth Hub’s newsletter. Packed full of opportunities and updates for your business. We recently reached the milestone of over 100 businesses supported via our Professional Business Advisor Programme, and this number grows by the day. I’d like to remind you that this program is still available and many businesses are finding it transformational in the impact it is having on their business. There are also some free webinars coming up that we’re running with our advisors. Be sure to check through the newsletter to find the details on these webinars or contact our team and we’ll be happy to help people book on.

We’ve really enjoyed working with the team at Lloyds Bank Academy to bring the business boostcamp series to Worcestershire. The feedback has been excellent, with lots of SMEs finding real value in learning about how digital business skills can accelerate the growth of their business.

We continue to work closely with our education and business partnership team and with them we are reaching out to Worcestershire businesses to help support a drive for work experience. Work experience is a fantastic way to show off your organisation, but also inspire the next generation to work for you and within your industry. Our schools are looking for businesses to support work, experience and help create the county’s future workforce. There’s an article in the newsletter where you can find out more about this, but we’d really welcome your support.

Finally, at a regional level, Worcestershire Growth Hub have secured a fantastic opportunity for Worcestershire businesses to join industry experts at a West Midlands supply chain event with made smarter. The event has two objectives to update and inform businesses about how adopting technology will help secure and boost their business as well as the region’s manufacturing and engineering sectors and to talk you through the support that is available to help you do that. But it will also offer a meet the buyer opportunity. Midland Metro Alliance are looking for suppliers who can provide products and services to the largest tram extension programme in the UK. If you think that the latter might apply to you, then I urge you to attend and book your slot with the procurement teams. Either way, this event offers a fantastic networking and education opportunity, and I’d encourage any Worcestershire businesses interested in this event to register.

So that’s it for me for November. The next time you hear from me. We will be approaching Christmas. I just can’t quite believe where this year is gone. So finally, I just wanted to remind you that the growth hub is funded by the government, the local enterprise partnership and the local councils to support you and your business.

We recognise that for some this is a really challenging time, but I wanted to stress that we are here for you. We may not always have a grant or the financial support, but there is rarely a time we speak to a business where we haven’t found something of value that they can take away from the engagement with us. So I urge you again to pick up the phone, to drop us an email. Have a chat with us and just check that you are accessing everything that is available to you. We are open for business and we are here for you. I look forward to speaking to you in December.
