Hello and welcome to our September 2023 newsletter from the Worcestershire Growth Hub team. As we all settle back in after the summer break I do hope you’ve enjoyed the sunshine, albeit fleeting, whilst it was here. Now September marks the start of a busy period for the Growth Hub team as we prepare for events, programme launches and new campaigns to continue our support for your businesses.

First up this month is an update on the Growth Hub’s Professional Business Advisors programme. Earlier this month we formally launched Wave four of the programme. This is a free specialist support scheme available to all businesses across Worcestershire. No matter your size or sector. Through the scheme, you can access expert advice in several key business areas from marketing and finance to sustainability and digital adoption of technology and even general business advice. The Growth Hub team have created some helpful bite size videos to explain the scheme and give you a chance to meet the professional advisors who will be helping your business.

This week also marks the official launch of the new Worcestershire UK Shared Prosperity Fund business support programmes working in partnership with the County Council and all six District councils. We are pleased to be involved in launching these programmes and the funding grants to provide further support to the Worcestershire business community. We also have a series of business support events coming up which are focused on promoting inclusive practices. You can join our team for all the events to commit to the full journey towards becoming an inclusive employer. Or you can pick and choose the events that most interest you and your business.

My final update this month is to flag the University of Worcester Business School’s Careers Fair, which is coming up next month on the 19th of October. The Careers Fair aims to promote springboard roles, graduate jobs and placements to business, computing and cyber students, including those who are here studying from overseas. This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to promote your business and sector to potential employees, helping you to build your future workforce.
