Mentoring Worcestershire returns to help local businesses grow

Mentoring Worcestershire has opened applications for its seventh year, offering local business owners the opportunity to access expert mentoring and support to help their businesses grow.

Over the last six years, the programme has supported 102 local businesses across Worcestershire, helping entrepreneurs overcome challenges, strengthen leadership skills and build more resilient organisations.

The programme matches participants with experienced business owners for six months of personalised mentoring, providing valuable expertise, fresh perspectives and practical guidance to support their growth ambitions.

Caroline Roffe, Director at Caroline Sheppard Footwear & Accessories Agency Ltd commented on the value of the programme: “My mentor was extremely knowledgeable in all areas of business and having someone there to paint a road map out for me has been invaluable.

A big thank you to my mentor and the programme, I would recommend this pathway to any small business owner.”

The programme has become a proven platform for positive change, with mentees consistently reporting increased confidence, stronger business strategies, and renewed focus.

Councillor Adam Kent, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Finance, Corporate Services and Business at Worcestershire County Council, said: “Running a business can be demanding, particularly in a challenging economic climate, and having an experienced person to offer fresh thinking and help map out the next steps can make a real difference.

“Mentoring Worcestershire is practical business support at its best. Over the past six years, it has helped 102 local businesses overcome obstacles, strengthen their leadership and build more confident and resilient organisations. By bringing together experienced mentors and ambitious business owners, we are helping Worcestershire businesses turn good ideas into sustainable growth. I would encourage any business owner ready to take their next step to apply.”
