A growing Worcestershire accountancy firm has received national recognition for the way it supports, leads and develops its employees.

Hayward Wright Accountancy Group, which has offices in Redditch, Solihull and Worcester, has been awarded the coveted Investors in People accreditation after demonstrating its commitment to the management and performance of its people.

During a detailed 15-month process, eight employees from Hayward Wright took part in interviews and assessments with the financial specialists bringing in a new appraisal process, targets and personal development plans under the Investors in People guidance.

Hayward Wright’s managing director, Alistair Hayward-Wright, said: “To be awarded Investors in People status is fantastic news and it concludes a long process where we’ve been able to demonstrate how passionate we are about caring for and developing our employees.

“Our new-look appraisal process is a massive part of our refreshed approach. It allows us to identify hidden talents in our employees, but also lets members of the team make an impact in other parts of the business such as marketing and business development.

“Aside from attracting and nurturing new talent, the whole Investors in People process has also seen us becoming more active in seeking feedback from staff on the business – whilst also gaining insight from our clients. It’s a proud milestone for us especially as we are celebrating our tenth anniversary this year.”

Mr Hayward-Wright, who founded the business in 2007, added that the company will now take part in assessments three times a year to ensure it is maintaining its high standards.

Investors in People is a standard for people management, offering accreditation to organisations that adhere to their standard. Formed in 1991, it provides a framework, which any organisation can use. It mirrors the business planning cycle making it clear for organisations to follow and implement in their own planning cycle.
