The innovation event has been given its name to highlight the importance of testing new ideas to enable businesses to innovate. As well as unveiling new WINN initiatives due to the feedback received, the session will include innovation showcases and an inspiring presentation on ‘The Innovation Mindset’.

WINN Wednesdays are part of the Worcestershire Innovation  (WINN) Programme formed by Worcestershire County Council and the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, QinetiQ, University of Worcester, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, Birmingham Science City, Central Technology Belt, Malvern Hills Science Park and Malvern Instruments. The programme is designed to bring together networks of innovation communities and like-minded individuals to form successful collaborations, provide a vibrant and creative environment to inspire ideas and provide opportunities and assistance to launch new concepts.

Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “The WINN Wednesday ‘Testing 1,2,3’ event has responded to the needs of businesses and is a great opportunity to get involved, boost innovation and promote further economic growth and prosperity.

“A number of new initiatives are set to be launched at the upcoming event in response to the feedback gained from the previous WINN Wednesday and I would urge local businesses to register their place at the earliest opportunity to find out how their business can benefit from these schemes.”

Cllr Dr Ken Pollock, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy, Skills and Infrastructure at Worcestershire County Council, said: “WINN Wednesday is a fantastic opportunity for local companies to meet with industry experts and help to forge a more innovative business environment.

“I look forward to seeing the new initiatives launched at the event on Wednesday 28 September and to hear more about the continued innovation of our local businesses.”

Places are limited, however tickets are free of charge and businesses are encouraged to register at the earliest opportunity via the new Worcestershire Innovation website. The first 42 people to book onto this event will be placed into a draw where 5 people will be selected at random and given the opportunity to present on the evening.
