Worcestershire County Council and Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership are an Approved Gateway for the Kickstart Scheme and are excited to announce we have over 18 live Kickstart Job offers across Worcestershire, with many more on the way.
The team have been working together with many of the counties employers, supporting them to create exciting various job placements, including Marketing Assistants, Builder, Labourer, Bodyshop Technicians, Teaching Assistants, Bakery Assistants to Broadcast and System Engineers.
The team are processing over 120 approved employers who are offering over 460 placements, and this number is growing daily.
Organisations can now access the Kickstart scheme through a gateway, regardless of the number of placements they are considering. The Kickstart Grant will enable employers to create new roles which they might not have been able to offer.
The Kickstart Grant covers a role for a young person (16-24yrs) claiming Universal Credits, for a minimum of 25hrs per week, paying national minimum wage for the employees age group. For each Job placement the employer will receive £1500 for employment support. The employer must ensure they offer employment support for each job placement, however Worcestershire County Council can support with this.
The County Council are offering free 1-1 tailored support for each job placement to support young people to gain as much as they can from their Kickstart job placement. From CV support, personal development, time keeping and social skills, supporting to gain sustainable employment.
