Worcestershire businesses are now able to take advantage of the Skills Bootcamps programme to upskill and acquire new talent.
Skills Bootcamps are flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, which can provide individuals and employees with the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills. The aim of the programme is to help individuals source the skills needed for employment and for businesses to ensure their staff gain relevant skills for life, supporting the business to continue growing.
In Worcestershire, the Skills Bootcamps programme will be covering digital and technology, construction and care skills and has been designed to respond to skills shortages.
Any Worcestershire employers are eligible for the Skills Bootcamps programme.
Employers contribute to the cost of training if they want to use Skills Bootcamps to train their existing employees. Large employers (250+) contribute 30% of the cost, and small or medium employers (3 to 249) contribute 10% of the cost.
Skills Bootcamps are being delivered in Worcestershire via a partnership between Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, Worcestershire County Council and further education providers, The Development Manager, Kidderminster College, Heart of Worcestershire College and Herefordshire and Ludlow College.
Skills Bootcamps are fully funded for learners by the Department for Education and are part of the Lifetime Skills Guarantee.
