The very best involved in apprenticeships in Worcestershire were celebrated at the 2023 Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards.
The 9th annual awards were on Thursday 16 November where over 300 representatives from businesses, apprentices, schools, training providers and ambassadors attended the West Midland Safari Park for the prestigious celebration. The event recognised the tremendous efforts of all those involved in delivering and supporting apprenticeships in the county.
11 winners were crowned, with the highly coveted Worcestershire Apprentice of the year named as Cameron Gallamore from Doncasters, sponsored by Redspeed International, and Worcestershire Apprenticeship Employer of the Year announced as Open GI, sponsored by Sanctuary.
Alongside the celebrations, attendees also had a captivating and humorous evening thanks to the awards host, comedian, performer and TV and Radio star, Lucy Porter.
Lucy Porter, Comedian, performer and TV and radio star and host of this year’s apprenticeship awards said: “I was delighted to be able to host the Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards, it was such a wonderful celebration of the extraordinary individuals and organisations who are making apprenticeships such a success in the county.
“I’d like to congratulate all the finalists and winners and encourage them and others to continue the great work of delivering, supporting and championing apprenticeships.”
The event was the 9th year of the awards organised by Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and Worcestershire County Council, who launched the Worcestershire Apprenticeships programme back in 2014. 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the programme with the team already planning a plethora of events and campaigns from National Apprenticeship Week and beyond to highlight the impact and value of apprenticeships, and also the difference the Worcestershire Apprenticeships programme has made in the county.
