The Small Business Commissioner Webinar

In a joint initiative with West Midlands Growth Hubs, Worcestershire Business Central is hosting a FREE webinar, with Philip King, the Small Business Commissioner. The webinar, taking place on 6 August 2020, will offer businesses the opportunity to find out what FREE support is available in the West Midlands.

The Small business Commissioner (SBC), leads an independent office aimed at empowering small business in resolving disputes around late and unfair payment issues and provides advice, including how to take action if a payment is overdue. The SBC is impartial and free to use on a non-risk basis, and independent but appointed by government.

In a career spanning over 40 years, Philip King, has held senior credit management roles in the high-tech and communication sector and in distribution and retail, which included spells at Olivetti and Vodafone. He was appointed Director General of the ICM in 2005, and later Chief Executive. Philip was behind the Institute’s drive to become a Chartered body (becoming the CICM in 2015). He was appointed to the post of interim Small Business Commissioner in January 2020.

The webinar will feature a talk from Philip King on the FREE support that the SBC can provide and allow businesses the opportunity to pose questions directly on the issues that small business face.
