WGH Business Update – February 2022

Hello, and welcome to the Worcestershire Growth Hub’s February newsletter. So, its February all ready, we are about six weeks into 2022 and momentum Is really ramping up. I don’t know about you, but we had an incredibly busy January, and it’s going to continue as we approach the end of our financial year.

On that note, we’ve been able to secure some additional funding which can take us up to the end of march, to offer you further support with our Specialist Advisor Programme. This is offered on a first come first served basis, and there is more information as to how you can access this in the newsletter. I really urge you to have a look at that because it’s offering some great support, it’s really having a direct impact on the businesses we are dealing with, and we would love to be able to support you further.

Our specialist business advisor programme not only offers one-to-one support, but we also deliver one-to-many group sessions. Our next session is with our tech and cyber specialists borwell, they’re talking about how you can utilize SharePoint to maximise the effectiveness of your business. This is particularly important at the moment with so many people working from home, so if you are interested in that and learning a little bit more about it, then please do join our event on the 23 February.

Hopefully you couldn’t fail to have seen it was national apprenticeship week, at the Growth Hub we have two apprentices, and we are so proud of them, they bring so much to our team, if you are interested in having an apprentice, please do contact us we can point you in the right direction and talk to you about the types of courses and roles available.

As I mentioned earlier, the year feels like its whizzing by, and the team are already in preparation for the Chamber of Commerce expo which is on the 10 March at the three counties showground. We would love for you to come and see us at that event, its free to register and there’s more details in the newsletter.

Hot of the press, we are just launching a new event that were running with the British Business Bank. This is where we’re looking at different types of investment in businesses that’s available to you. This one particularly focuses on Angel investment. The event is on the 8 March, there’s more information in the newsletter, but we would really urge you to pop along and see what’s out there.

Finally, we know how important a skilled workforce is to you, we hear it every single day when we speak to our businesses and there is no better way, than to have an influence over your future workforce than to work with young people. We are running a host of skills roadshows across the county throughout March, and we would be thrilled if you would be involved. This is an opportunity for you to meet young people to talk about the roles available within your organization and hopefully inspire them to come and work for you.

So, that was a whistle stop tour of the newsletter, hopefully you enjoy reading it, there’s a lot more information in there and if we can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the team, our details are on the screen now. See you in March!
