Worcestershire Business Central invited local Agri-tech businesses to take part in a roundtable to discuss current issues and barriers to growth within the sector.
The 25 businesses in attendance had the opportunity to talk about the problems facing the industry, such as, Brexit, skills, and accessing financial support.
The Roundtable key speakers included:
Professor Roy Kennedy, Pershore College, who talked about the new groundbreaking STEM facility at the College.
Jo Jury, Rural Development Lead DEFRA, who discussed the Rural Development Programme which provides money for projects to improve agriculture, the environment and rural life.
Sophia Haywood, Policy Manager, Chamber of Commerce, who highlighted the current politic climate businesses face and how the Chamber can support local businesses.
Businesses had the opportunity to network, discover potential funding to increase productivity and turnover, and view the new groundbreaking facilities at Pershore College.
Randesh Kalar, Business Engagement Manager for Worcestershire Business Central, said “It was beneficial to bring together a mixture of businesses from the Agri-tech sector and offer the opportunity to build networks, source local suppliers, and to highlight the business support that is available for the sector in Worcestershire.”
