Worcestershire businesses to benefit from New Campaign for Skills Bootcamps

Worcestershire County Council has announced exciting news with a new campaign for Skills Bootcamps, supported by a significant £1 million investment. This initiative is designed to empower those looking to switch careers and discover new opportunities or for existing staff looking to reskill or retrain.

The Skills Bootcamps initiative is here to meet the needs of individuals aged 19 and above. For many organisations skills and training presents a challenge and this initiative aims to support employers to ensure their workforce is ready for the future by providing carefully curated training programmes as well as reducing the cost to train staff.

Participants gain hands-on experience and develop skills directly applicable to their chosen career paths with renowned industry experts and mentors providing guidance, ensuring participants receive valuable insights and support to apply directly to their work.

For employers, the Skills Bootcamps programme can help with upskilling or retraining existing staff. This can not only lead to improved productivity, efficiency and financial gain, but for employees directly, it can support their personal development and strengthen their wellbeing and enjoyment at work.

All training through the Skills Bootcamps programme is designed to align with industries and demands to ensure the training delivered is impactful to organisations, regardless of their size.

Thanks to a generous £1 million boost, Worcestershire County Council is committed to continuing delivery of the programme to further support individuals and organisations across the county.

Abigail Jones, Worcestershire Skills Bootcamps Manager, expressed pride in the program’s achievements, stating, “We are thrilled to witness individuals like a 34-year-old man who, after almost a decade in a factory environment, successfully completed a construction Skills Bootcamp. His journey not only signifies personal growth but also showcases the potential for participants to kickstart new careers and even entrepreneurial ventures. We take pride in supporting both Worcestershire residents with the chance to re-skill and change career direction, and employers to upskill and retrain their staff.”

Worcestershire County Council is working closely with the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and Worcestershire Growth Hub to ensure that all businesses, no matter their size or sector can access the Skills Bootcamps programme, as well as the wider business support on offer, to help their organisation grow.
