This week I’d like to spend time highlighting a new campaign that was launched for the county.
Make It Worcestershire, is a new campaign developed by One Worcestershire and Worcestershire Food and Drink to help promote local produce, producers and outlets.
Whilst COVID-19 has presented many challenges for businesses, those in the food and drink sector have had their own challenges and many have risen to overcome these obstacles. The county has seen many examples of food and drink organisations who have switched to digital sales overnight to continue their business offering to customers in a new format.
The campaign aims to build on this and further showcase and celebrate local produce to shoppers both digitally and in physical stores. It is hoped the campaign will also help support those who haven’t been able to overcome the demanding challenges from COVID-19.
Over 20 producers and outlets will be a part of the first wave of the campaign, and an extra 5 producers have placed the campaign sticker on their produce going forward to highlight its origin.
I would like to encourage local shoppers to support their local outlets and producers during these uncertain times and be a proud supporter of the Make It Worcestershire campaign. I think it is great to see a campaign like this launched to give some extra promotion to a sector where Worcestershire has lots of hidden gems.
As mentioned in previous updates, I am still encouraging any businesses who have been impacted by COVID-19 and need support or guidance to speak with Worcestershire Business Central.
