Serco: Support Programmes for Businesses
Serco offer a variety of support programmes to help businesses develop their staff and succeed.What is Serco?
Serco are a leading integrator of funding, providers and systems in the employability and vocational skills sectors in England and Wales.
They provide a seamless journey to citizens with low or no vocational skills and/or unemployed to sustained employment and income, by integrating employability and skills programmes and funding. Serco operate across the Local Enterprise Partnership areas in England and work closer with Growth Hub, such as Worcestershire Businss Central to deliver their programmes to businesses in their geography.
Two programmes they deliver are Skills Support for the Workforce and Skills Support for Redundancy.
Skills Support for the Workforce
Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW) is a training programme tailored to help support small & medium-sized businesses to upskill their employees with training courses & qualifications to grow their business and boost the local economy.
SSW provides a range of bespoke training programmes and qualifications including IT, leadership and management, as well as vocationally-relevant courses targeting specific areas of improvement. The training is designed to meet skills gaps within local businesses, with a focus on the LEPs’ priorities to help boost the local economy in each area.
Working with the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and Worcestershire Business Central Growth Hub, the Skills support for the Workforce programme is available to Worcestershire businesses to benefit from.
SSW is co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Education and Skills Funding Agency.

Skills Support for Redundancy
Skills Support for Redundancy (SSR) is an initiative designed to support employers and individuals affected by redundancy.
SSR offers a wide range of training support options to help Employers access their options and outline if they need to make redundancies.
Like with SSW, Worcestershire Businesses are able to benefit from this programme through speaking with the Worcestershire Business Central Growth Hub team.
SSR is co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Education and Skills Funding Agency.
